Dan's The Man - Jack Petchey Award

Dan's The Man!

We have mentioned in the past about our Young Mentor Dan Birmingham, 13 and his Jack Petchey Award, but now he has been chosen by the Jack Petchey Organisation as the subject of a special case study for his achievements and fundraising for Mental Health Awareness. Dan has volunteered for ADO all Summer at various Community Events and is a valued member of the team now.

She's A Bit Of A Minx

Calling All Of Our ADO Buddies and Friends of ADO

We have started up a Go-Fund Me Page for our lovely female Meerkat Minx. Unfortunately Minx has had to be separated from our other Meerkat's, Molly and Marvin, due to a constant battle for Marvin's attention. Unfortunately, as Minx is Marvin's brother, he chose Molly as his partner, which has caused some friction in the camp. Being separated from the other Meerkat's has lowered the spirits of Minx, as she has been placed into a temporary enclosure and is on her own. She has lots of human friends, who are part of her family, but really needs another boy Meerkat to partner.

Bushcraft Dave Does It Again

Bushcraft Dave Does It Again!

First of all we would like to congratulate our two staff members Sam and Amber on achieving their certification of Bushcraft Practitioner, when they completed a three day course deep in the depths of Derbyshire with our Bushcraft partner Big Dave Watson and his team from Woodland Survival Crafts. Dave has already successfully guided through two of our management team previously and of course was central to the design, build and training provided to staff when constructing our impressive natural wooden Round House at the Mini-Explorers Preschool Nursery.

The New Ford Ranger!

Ford Motor Company have a large range of 4x4 Ford Rangers in their fleet of vehicles, but recently ADO took delivery of a different type of Ford Ranger in the shape of the team from the FordSTA Strategy and Business Office department. It was the idea of Jeff Lamer from the team, who after visiting our Poets Corner site for a Meerkat and Raccoon Dog Experience was compelled to learn about how ADO want to transform the site and develop it further for the community and build a place where more healthcare and education services can be offered in an outdoor wildlife environment.

October Holiday Club ProgrammeIts October Half-term Holiday Club

The October Holiday Club runs for 5 days and is packed full of great activities, plenty of creepy creatures and offers parents and carers a brilliant programme of variety and first class child care throughout the October Half-Term Holidays.

Each day we run a completely different programme. No one day is the same! Typical of the time of year our focus is on Autumn themes utilising the natural resources in the woods and open meadow at this time of year. We offer crafts, challenges, games and of course our live animals. Our last day is a fun focussed day with Halloween themes.

Live Animals - We have over 50 species of Live Animals - Get to meet many of them on selected days

Bushcraft - We have many bushcraft activities that are themed to provide children with challenges to learn new skills

Forest School - Using traditional Forest School techniques to interact and learn in the natural outdoor environment

Low Ropes - Providing physical and play activities with themed challenges on our professional low ropes equipment

Our October programme is so jam-packed with activities it would take forever to list them all, but for the highlights check out the listings below. Don't forget, you can book any one day, multiple days in any combination or the whole week.
