ADO Half Term & School Holiday Services
During school holidays and half terms, ADO will offer 2 or 4 hour sessions to children and young people who are aged 8-18 years and have an EHCP.
Our Easter holiday club is full but we will provide details for the May half term shortly.
The sessions are on a 1:1 basis, however, as always we will bring children and young people together for specific activities to improve social skills.
Morning sessions will run 10am-12pm.
Afternoon sessions will run 12pm-2pm.
Children and young people who are known to ADO and manage well on site have the option to attend for the day session, which is 4 hours, 10am-2pm.
Sessions will be based on specific interests of each child-young person. This could include incorporating such topics as;
Animal Care, Equine Care, Forest Activities, Bushcraft Experiences, Animal Interactions, Sport/Wellness, Mindfulness, Biking, Low Ropes, Non-Contact Boxing and Archery.
As the sessions are 1:1, they are bespoke to each child-young person to ensure they enjoy themselves as much as possible and have full support.
Our sessions are held at our beautiful 6.5 acre outdoor site in Welling, where we benefit from nature, wildlife, woodland areas, plenty of trees and plants and we have our animals there, including horses, ponies, pygmy goats, pigs, raccoon dog, guinea pigs, snakes, bearded dragons, rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, skink, degus and a variety of invertebrates.
If a child-young person has not attended with us before, we will require them to complete an assessment. This comprises of a half hour phone conversation with the main parent-carer and a half hour practical visit to the site. The assessment allows us to better understand the child-young person and determine whether our site will be suitable for them. All being well, the child-young person can then start sessions with us.
If a child-young person has previously attended with us within the last 6 months, we will not need to run an assessment for them as this information will have already been obtained and in date.
An initial assessment for new children-young people is £40.
Each 2 hour session is £65 per child-young person.
For a 4 hour session, the fee is £128.50 per child-young person.
Sessions can be paid for via personal budget / prepaid card account / via their holding account or privately.
If you are not sure which service will be relevant or would like to discuss the funding in further details, please contact your child’s supporting professional / social worker / duty worker to discuss further.
ADO also offers one hour therapy sessions which can only be privately paid for. These sessions are on a 1:1 and cover all ages. Session times will depend on availability.
For further information on either our half term offer or the one hour therapy services, please get in touch and we will be happy to provide further information and take your booking.
