ADO in the News

Friends of QVT

Our good friends at Quo Vardis Trust (QVT) are on another mission to raise money for Animal Therapy Services. QVT are a mental health charity providing supported housing in South East London and ADO have been partnering with the organisation for about 5 years now. As all housing charities are finding it harder to raise sufficient funding to provide activities and programmes for their residents, especially as London Borough funding has been severely cut, they are having to think outside the box to raise revenue to meet their obligations.

ADO Appoint Avensure

We are pleased to announce ADO have tied up a 5 year contract with Avensure Ltd, who become our new legal team. We have been searching for the ideal legal partners to compliment our education and healthcare services since our business re-focus in February and with Avensure we have found a team who tick all our boxes.

ADO Join SFG

ADO are pleased to have been accepted as members of Social Farms and Gardens. SFG is the result of a merger between the Federation of City Farms (FCFCG) and Community Gardens and Care Farming UK (CFUK). They joined together to better support and represent the farmers, gardeners and growers who run life-changing projects in our urban and rural communities.

ADO Accounts Released

Our Chartered Accountant partners RASS:Mian have signed off the 2016-2017 company year end accounts and they have been delivered and accepted by Companies House. We are pleased to see continued organic growth during this period, resulting in a turnover close to £¼ million. This means the company has moved into a different class, as an analogy, A 'village' to a 'medium sized town'!

Getting Our Thinking Caps On

ADO and Greenwich MENCAP have succesfully applied in a partnership bid to raise funding over £15,000 for a project we have called 'Talking Tails', which will be delivered in the new school year from September, for the direct benefit of Greenwich Schools

Two Job Opportunities at ADO & Updates

ADO have extended the application deadline for The Teaching Manager role required at our ADO Mini-Explorers until August 31st. We had filled this role, but due to circumstances beyond our control, this role is now available again. We also have a new Outdoor Sports Educator Apprenticeship available up for grabs.

Inspirational Corey

ADO Senior Manager, Kate O'Brien concluded a fantastic year for our Jack Petchey Award Winners, with our tenth achiever, Corey Nicoll.

Kate reported, "Corey attends a local secondary school, and his friends are currently doing their Duke of Edinburgh volunteering with us. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Corey did not have the ability to carry out the full expeditions but did want to do the volunteering with his friends."
