Bug Hotel is Simply Exemplary !

If you remember back in June, we installed a monster ten-story bug hotel with surrounding wildlflower garden and insect loving plants at the new Lidl construction site on Upper Wickham Lane, Welling in partnership with IKON Construction. The idea was masterminded by IKON Site Sustainability Manager Iain Henderson, who was quick to get his friendly neighbours ADO involved with Community Wildlife Garden Project. The project is now coming to its natural end as the building work advances within the site footprint and the garden has now been levelled for further site works, as the store is due to open in November.

Dan's The Man!

We have mentioned in the past about our Young Mentor Dan Birmingham, 13 and his Jack Petchey Award, but now he has been chosen by the Jack Petchey Organisation as the subject of a special case study for his achievements and fundraising for Mental Health Awareness. Dan has volunteered for ADO all Summer at various Community Events and is a valued member of the team now.

Co-op Gets The Mini Grand Opening

Our ADO Mini-Explorers Preschool Children opened a local store for a well known national institute recently. The Co-op at Albany Park Local Shops has been redeveloped and our very own Mini-Explorers cut the ribbon when it reopened on Wednesday 13th September.

Calling All Of Our ADO Buddies & Friends of ADO

We have started up a Go-Fund Me Page for our lovely female Meerkat Minx. Unfortunately Minx has had to be separated from our other Meerkat's, Molly and Marvin, due to a constant battle for Marvin's attention. Unfortunately, as Minx is Marvin's brother, he chose Molly as his partner, which has caused some friction in the camp. Being separated from the other Meerkat's has lowered the spirits of Minx, as she has been placed into a temporary enclosure and is on her own. She has lots of human friends, who are part of her family, but really needs another boy Meerkat to partner.

An IKONic Bug Hotel Arises From Construction

The new Lidl construction site at Upper Wickham Lane, Welling has had a new extension in the shape of a ten-story high bug hotel with surrounding wildlife garden. It’s all thanks to IKON Construction who kindly funded the project and Animal Days Out C.I.C. who designed and built the bug hotel using man made building site materials and natural materials gathered from local welling woodland.

More ADO Qualified Staff in Bushcraft..

First of all we would like to congratulate our two staff members Sam and Amber on achieving their certification of Bushcraft Practitioner, when they completed a three day course deep in the depths of Derbyshire with our Bushcraft partner Big Dave Watson and his team from Woodland Survival Crafts. Dave has already successfully guided through two of our management team previously and of course was central to the design, build and training provided to staff when constructing our impressive natural wooden Round House at the Mini-Explorers Preschool Nursery.

Rangers For The Day

Ford Motor Company have a large range of 4x4 Ford Rangers in their fleet of vehicles, but recently ADO took delivery of a different type of Ford Ranger in the shape of the team from the FordSTA Strategy and Business Office department. It was the idea of Jeff Lamer from the team, who after visiting our Poets Corner site for a Meerkat and Raccoon Dog Experience was compelled to learn about how ADO want to transform the site and develop it further for the community and build a place where more healthcare and education services can be offered in an outdoor wildlife environment.
