ADO Mini-Explorers - Officially Outstanding!

Following our first OFSTED inspection on Tuesday 20th March, the team at ADO are excited and thrilled to announce we have just received the official news that the ADO Mini-Explorers Preschool has been overall graded as 'Outstanding'! In fact we swept the board within the four main categories, gaining an Outstanding in all of them. An incredible achievement for the Preschool at its first ever inspection.

The Ofsted inspection is a rigorous process lasting several hours that all schools have to go through, where the quality and standards are tested in a number of areas and then graded either Grade 4 - Inadeqaute, Grade 3 - Requires Improvement, Grade 2 - Good or Grade 1 - Outstanding.

The ADO Mini-Explorers Preschool Grades were as follows:

♦  Effectiveness of the Leadership and Management - Outstanding

♦  Quality of Teaching, Learning and Assessment - Outstanding

♦  Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare - Outstanding

♦  Outcomes For Children - Outstanding

After the tremendous hard work and many challenges, the whole team at ADO has finally got the rewards they deserve. The team are only part of the success though. The Preschool represents the wider community, its the parents, carers and of course the children that have played a big part in its success. With a great feedback and critique system in place, many changes have been made at the request of the parents-carers to improve procedures behind the scenes. 

We also have to thank our incumbent landlords at Albany Park Baptist Church for not only the support to set-up at their land in the beginning, but the continued and dedicated support on going to help be a part of the success. When times were testing, we gained tremendous support from the church leadership team which allowed us to work towards our goals.

The ADO Education and Programme Director, Victoria McHolland-Pilcher, summed up the exciting news earlier, "I am so very pleased to announce that I received our first official inspection report today and our Ofsted grading is Outstanding!! We are so happy to share our report with you all. Thank you for all the wonderful support our lovely families have given us. We are so very proud, it has been a busy 2.5 years since I commenced with my action plan for this key area of our outdoor education services. We are now in process of opening a specialist outdoor education independent school for children with SEMH and LD and this grading and model will support our next stage of growth. All the ADO team (preschool site, extra curricular staff and office team) have worked so very hard as a cohesive team and I will be forever grateful. Alice (Programme Manager) has been a star from the very beginning. A massive thanks to Albany Park Baptist Church for being so supportive along the way. Thank you to all our previous and current Mini Explorer families for being part of our journey!"
