Early Years Get A Head Start with ADO

Choosing a Preschool Nursery is never an easy job for parents-carers, with so many options and factors in the mix before you even start to narrow down the alternatives. Here at ADO, our job is to prepare the early years children for reception and primary school and to give them the best possible start before embarking on their new school learning 'career'. The transition period for those children can be a real test of character and the better they are prepared, the easier they will fit into their new school. With the school year closing soon and the children at the Mini-Explorers looking forward to their leaving ceremony, it will be sad for the staff to say their goodbyes to those children they have been so close to during this school year. Although there will be probably not be a dry eye when their Teddy Bear's picnic and leaving ceremoney ends, the staff know that the children will be well prepared for the next exciting chapter in their life.

Co-op Supporting Early Years

We are pleased to announce that the Co-op local cause community fund has just paid ADO a second payment of £357, bringing the total to £716.38 to be precise! There is still one final payment to come around October-November time, so we are hoping we can hit the £1000 mark.

How Can You Help?

Bell Donate £100

We would like to say a big thanks to Bell Publishing Ltd for their donation of £100 recently. Bell Publishing Ltd is a family-owned international media and events company based in Gravesend. Editorial Director, Sarah McRitchie, explained, "Each week at head office we have a fresh fruit box delivered. The staff then give a donation for each piece of fruit they take to eat. The company matches the sum and makes a donation to a charity or not for profit organisation. On this occasion our Assistant Group Manager, Samantha Bull, suggested ADO. We were more than happy to donate to such a great cause."

The donation was used to add to the Silly Sally Fund to pay for the veterinary bills and subsequent electric fencing installed at Poets Corner.

James Brokenshire MP Opens Roundhouse

The ADO Mini-Explorers children, staff and parents had a very special guest on Friday 11th May, when Old Bexley and Sidcup MP, James Brokenshire and his lovely wife Cathy, visited the Preschool for the official opening of our Roundhouse. We would like to thank James for taking time out of his very busy schedule in his new role in government as Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, to support us as a local community focussed company.

9th Jack Petchey Winner is Bo'e

A big well done to our 9th Jack Petchey Achievement Award Winner in what has been an amazing year for young talent working with the ADO teams. This time we are pleased to announce that Bo'e Corneille has scooped the ultimate award from her peers, the second to be nominated from those mentoring at our Mini-Explorers Preschool Nursery. Bo'e was nominated by the children for always being available to help them, especially with their cooking and being fun to be around. Bo'e has certainly built a strong affinity with the children and deservedly gets recognised for her work down at the Preschool during the extended afternoon sessions.
