Charlotte Cares

We are delighted to announce that our 18th Jack Petchey Achievement Award Winner is Charlotte Fenna. .Charlotte has been known to ADO since the start of 2019, where she started by volunteering to benefit herself and ADO. Charlotte was at college studying Animal Management, whilst also volunteering at an animal charity and still wanted to do more.

ADO Preschool Closure

In line with the government directive released on Wednesday 18th March 2020, the ADO Preschool Nursery will be closing and will not be open until further notice on Monday 23rd March 2020.

Following today's confirmed advice from the Bexley Early Years team, all nurseries will be closed on Monday to all children, the only exception to this is, if they are serving vulnerable children (with EHC Plans or Children’s Social Care involvement) or the children of Keyworkers. For further information on designated Keyworkers, please click HERE>

ADO have confirmed that we are not in a position to meet these exceptions, therefore we will be closing our setting in line with the government directive.

Best Animal Assisted Therapy Services - UK

For the fourth year running, The ADO Therapy team have picked up a prize at the GHP Private Healthcare Awards. In previous years we have won the awards for the London and South-East region, but this year we have been awarded our best ever recognition of services for the UK! Yet again, the therapeutic services we offer are still being recognised as groundbreaking and holistic and our award of 'Best Animal Assisted Therapy Services - UK' is a tremendous achievement once again.

Latest Advice From Public Health England and ADO Update

As our duty to inform parent-carers of the very latest updates from Public Health England, the situation has rapidly developed over the last few days. Until we are told by the authorities to close, ADO will continue to provide both our early years and alternative provision services for as long as our own resources allow. These are very testing times for everyone and we, as an important community service provider, are doing our upmost to ensure the safety of your children and young people in care for as long as we can. As wth all service providers the loss of some of our staff through self-isolation will impact our business, although we have been planning for this since the outbreak and have some robust strategies in place to cope.

Coronavirus Latest News

As a responsible provider of education and therapy services, we will be continually monitoring the situation with regards to the outbreak of the flu-like virus 'Coronavirus'. We of course follow the government guidelines and advice led by the Department of Health and Social Care HERE>. Additionally as we are regulated by The Department of Education for our Early Years Preschool, we follow the more precise advice from this department, which has released it's first official advice notice for schools.

Owen Is Such A Good Sport

We are delighted to announce that our 17th Jack Petchey Achievement Award Winner is Owen Anderson. .Yes that's our 17th award winner. Incredible!  We can not thank the Jack Petchey foundation enough for their ongoing support for our young people and mentors and providing them with some aims and objectives in their personal development, so that when they are ready to start their careers, they can build upon the experience thay have gained with ADO. Owen works with our ADO Mini-Explorers Preschool team as a very popular mentor and its great to see how his confidence has continued to grow in his role.

Upping The Stakes - Think Green!

We have always tried our best at ADO to be ethical and kind to the environment and encourage, staff, children and young people, as service users, to do the same. With the recent world focus on the harm that plastics can do to our environment and that global warming is not a myth and is a scientifically proven process currently in progress, our senior managers have been looking at ways we can improve even further our own ethical take on the situation. We think that you can always do more and we want to up the stakes when we Think Green!

Senior Manager, Kate O'Brien, has been in particular very active in this area and has recently compiled a report on how ADO tackle the day to day issues of waste, recycling and re-using our consumables across the teams and departments. As we are moving into a new decade next month, its time to reflect on our progress and here are some great examples of the additional changes we have made during 2019.
