All Rounder Tatiana Gets Awarded

Oh yes! Its a production line of young talent here at ADO, as we recently had our 8th Jack Petchey Achievement Award winner. This time the award was presented for mentoring down at our ADO Mini-Explorers Preschool. Well done Tatiana Holland-Clarke, voted by her peers at the Preschool for being very helpful, great fun and more importantly helps the children with their art and cooking projects.

Senior Manager Kate O'Brien mentioned, " Tatiana is an extremely valued mentor within ADO and we are so pleased she is able to share her expertise with the Mini-Explorers."

Lewis Sticks To His Tasks To Become A Winner

We are pleased to announce that our 7th Jack Petchey Achievement Award winner is Lewis Stickings. Voted by his peers, Lewis has been Mr Dependable for at least a year now, volunteering on a Saturday to be a key member of the animal care team. Lewis always turns up, yes even when we had thick snow recently, working the Saturday session at both Poets Corner and at the main office, cracking on with his job come rain or shine. Recently completing two weeks of work experience at ADO, Lewis, currently studying at Hadlow Animal Management College, would like to work towards becoming a Marine Biologist eventually. He's pretty handy at catching the Guinea Pigs, so marine life should be easy-peasy! He has pledged his prize money towards building a new custom made enclosure for Bertha, ADO's enormous Burmese Python. Well done Lewis, a top man!

ADO Mini-Explorers - Officially Outstanding!ADO Mini Explorers Preschool

Following our first OFSTED inspection on Tuesday 20th March, the team at ADO are excited and thrilled to announce we have just received the official news that the ADO Mini-Explorers Preschool has been overall graded as 'Outstanding'! In fact we swept the board within the four main categories, gaining an Outstanding in all of them. An incredible achievement for the Preschool at its first ever inspection.

Bob Finally Says Goodbye To Us All

When it comes to legends, Bob the Bearded Dragon was up there with the most popular animals we have ever had working with us here at ADO. Sadly he passed away yesterday evening in his sleep.

Bob joined us at the very beginning of Animal Days Out and was part of the first ever set of animals we purchased. He was already 5-6 years old in 2011, so he must have been probably 13 years old at the end. A fine innings for a Bearded Dragon!

He was very popular and with his late partner Betty, they were a great double act at events, meeting thousands of people during their formative years and helping many children, young people and adults overcome fears and giving them confidence.. He sired over 30 baby Bearded Dragons with Betty, out living some of them.

Bob will never be forgotten. RIP Bob.

ADO Join 'Grow Wild' Campaign

ADO has just received their boxes of wild flower seed after successfully applying and being accepted onto the Grow Wild scheme in association with The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. Several thousand seeds including pollinators, woodland species, night time flowering species, sensory and classic field wildflower seeds have arrived to be sown over the next month or so at our Healthcare and Education site at Poets Corner, Welling.

Go Fund Me For Sally

Our beautiful therapy horse Silly Sally recently obtained a serious wound which has required around the clock care. Although Sally is on the mend, she still requires treatment, which has all proven to be very costly. As we are a small Not For Profit Community Interest Company, we have set up the Go Fund Me page to try and help cover some of Sally's vet bills and enable us to continue to provide the best possible care for her and get her well again for the benefit of the children, young people and adults that access her through equine therapy.

Practice Your Mindfulness Skills With Your Children This Easter

As we head into Easter, it's a great time of the year to spend some relaxing and quality time with your children and family. What better time to absorb and share all the things around you.

Jenny Maydon, our ADO counsellor, has provided a little taster of how to embrace mindfulness, with some useful tips aimed at parents and children.
