James Brokenshire MP Opens Roundhouse

The ADO Mini-Explorers children, staff and parents had a very special guest on Friday 11th May, when Old Bexley and Sidcup MP, James Brokenshire and his lovely wife Cathy, visited the Preschool for the official opening of our Roundhouse. We would like to thank James for taking time out of his very busy schedule in his new role in government as Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, to support us as a local community focussed company.

The visit started with James being introduced to staff before a tour of the inside space. We were joined by our partners from Albany Park Baptist Church, Minister RoundhouseCraig Downes and Secretary David Keep for a tour of the outside space, before the big ceremony began. The Roundhouse was duly opened at 3.30pm with the traditional cutting of the ribbon, to loud applause from all those attending. The ceremony closed with the children presenting James and Cathy with a beautiful bunch of flowers and a drawing of the Roundhouse, before James chatted to parents, staff and the children.

Head of Operations, Gary McHolland-Pilcher, was quick to mention, "We can't thank James and Cathy enough for visiting our Preschool to open our Roundhouse. It was uplifting knowing that James took time out in his extremely busy schedule to support local business, the community and most importantly the children attending our Preschool. He struck up an immediate rapport and spent some time chatting to all those attending. The Roundhouse was a complex and time consuming project and to have it officially opened by a Secretary of State was a tremendous boost to the staff who have worked so hard both in the office and on the ground in making the Preschool a popular and successful venture."
