The Teaching Manager will work alongside a team of childcare staff at our OFSTED rated 'Outstanding', ADO Mini-Explorers Outdoor Preschool Nursery based in Bexley. This role works closely with our Preschool Operations Manager and reports directly to the ADO Senior Manager. The Teaching Manager will have responsibilty for planning the learning programmes, for the EYFS curriculum in the Preschool. The role is for term time (38 weeks) only.
ADO Services is a not for profit organisation providing education and healthcare opportunities supporting children young people and adults. ADO Mini Explorers is a key part of our childcare services and is a specialist outdoor education setting for children aged 2 years to 5 years. We are based in a safe outdoor garden space in Bexley, Kent with attached indoor space for inclement weather and access to the local woods within a few minutes walk. ADO is also applying to become an Independent School to complement our Alternative Provision School based at our outdoor Education and Healthcare Centre. This part of the business is growing and is a specialist outdoor education provision for primary and secondary stages.
We are looking for an experienced teacher who loves the outdoors and has a passion for outdoor play and learning to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to join an ethical not for profit organisation in a management post and help us continue to extend our services to more children and families. You will need to be comfortable with the responsibilities of managing a dynamic and forward thinking nursery.
♦ Essential - Must have availbility for the new school year on September 3rd, with a minimum two days available for an induction in the summer holidays.
♦ Essential - The applicant must have at least 2 years experience of managing and leading a team with experience of an Ofsted inspection.
♦ Essential - Minimum of Level 6 QTS training applicable to EYFS educator status.
♦ Essential - Up to date knowledge of SENDCO and their role, safeguarding and radicalisation certification, hold current 12hr paediatric first aid and food hygiene certificates in order to comply with EYFS. (Or be prepared to undertake study)
♦ Essential - Full clean driving licence and use of own car for travel to the head office for meetings and between the our other sites.
♦ Desirable - Level 2 or 3 in Forest School or completed IOL accredited Bushcraft Practitioner training. If not held the applicant must be prepared to financially support their own CPD in FS and or Bushcraft with operational and training support from the organisation.
♦ Desirable - Experience within an outdoor setting or strong experience of Forest School provision.
♦ Non-Essential - Level 2 or 3 in Forest School or completed IOL accredited Bushcraft Practitioner training. If not held the applicant must be prepared to attend internal and or external training with support from the organisation.
