Volunteering at ADO
As a Not-For-Profit Community Interest Company, ADO have worked with many volunteers during our time. For most, volunteering offers an opportunity to do something you love or have a passion for. You can work in an environment that provides challenges and gives something back. For others it may be important to build a record of work experience to support studying. For some volunteering may be the first steps towards a job, where you can build an impressive list of achievements and gain invaluable experience. Many of our own staff have started in a volunteering capacity and gone on to get paid work. What ever your reason for volunteering, ADO is the land of opportunity for those serious about making a difference and engaging with a vibrant team in a number of different job roles and positions within our company.
Committed People Wanted!
Volunteering is a commitment and ADO are looking for committed individuals who want to put in a good shift and make a difference to our day to day operation. Each volunteering position needs individuals who can work and focus on their jobs and fit in with a busy team. Communication is key at ADO as we quite often work across sites and with different members of our team. Our services incorporate animals, horticulture, childcare, bushcraft, forest school ethos and outdoor play and physical activities.
How Can I Join Up?
The first steps in applying for any of our volunteering roles is to complete an online Volunteer Application Form HERE>. This information will allow us to work through your details and see whether you are suitable. There may be many applications for each role, so we want to make sure that the positions are suitable and will work for both parties.
If you are suitable we will ask for you to forward your CV so that we can better understand any relevant experience you have had. Most of our volunteering positions require a minimum commitment. Think of it as applying for a job role.
If selected as a volunteering candidate, we will want you to visit our main office for an informal chat with one of the team to talk through the requirements in more detail and to provide more information on the role and overview of the company.
We work in environments where there are often vulnerable children, young people and adults in the vacinity. All volunteering roles will require the successful candidate to hold an Enhanced DBS. Don't worry if you don't have one, we can organise that at a reduced cost of £18 only for each individual.
Finally there will be a little bit of paperwork to complete before you become a member of the ADO team.
